The brief: White Lodge is home to the Royal Ballet School. It is listed and forms part of the Crown Estate. It is situated in Richmond Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Royal Ballet School needed a design which catered for the needs of the pupils and staff who live at White Lodge but which was also sympathetic to its historic location. In conjunction with Matthew Childs Design we created a stylish and practical solution which enhances the building and allows enjoyment of the gardens. The designs also allow for entertainment on a larger scale, with usable spaces and unique vistas over Richmond Park. We will be working with The Royal Ballet School to implement stages of the design during the coming years.
