The brief: This Grade II listed Cotswold family home needed a stylish complement to a new oak and glass veranda over the main entrance. There were considerable problems with surface water in the courtyard, which we resolved with extensive drainage channels and a surface of South Cerney shingle. The planting bed was edged with oak sleepers and provides year-round structural interest.
